Stage 2 – 2025
- In 2025, the RO-LCG Federation consolidated its top position within the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (WLCG) through sustained contributions to data storage and processing for the ALICE, ATLAS, and LHCb experiments.
- RO-LCG ranked first worldwide among national Tier-2 centers in terms of disk storage capacity dedicated to ALICE, providing approximately 19 PB of storage. This capacity positions the federation, as a distributed center, second only to the largest ALICE Tier-1 sites.
- Between January and November 2025, RO-LCG delivered over 135 million wall-time CPU hours, representing 4.83% of the total computational time supplied by the 27 national Tier-2s serving ALICE, ATLAS, and LHCb, thus ranking 6th globally.
- The federation also increased its contribution to Run 3 data analysis, exceeding its pledged storage capacity, and ranked second in the number of ALICE jobs executed and eighth overall across all three experiments, accounting for 3.59% of the total job throughput.
- The RO-14-ITIM site maintained 100% operational functionality throughout the reporting period, reflecting the high reliability and performance standards achieved across the federation.
